Engaging 60-minute AT classes designed for Alexander Technique teachers
Each class examines a different topic and Alexander procedure
- Provides a moment for self-care through an AT teacher guided ‘lie down’ & movement turn
- Examines one of FMs procedures each week (ex. sit to stand, monkey, walking)
- Introduces information & research in integrative anatomy, motor learning or motor control that supports support FM’s procedures
- Allows for collegial exchange, reflection & discussion

Tuesday January 5:
A Functional Awareness approach to primary control; the head, neck spine in relation to fasciae
Tuesday January 12:
A Functional Awareness approach to the direction ‘let the back lengthen’; primary & secondary curves.
Tuesday January 19:
A Functional Awareness approach to FMs position of mechanical advantage (shallow & deep bending) The hip joint as conduit from ‘back widening’ to ‘knees forward and away’.
Tuesday January 26:
A Functional Awareness approach to the use of the arms in teaching; discerning glenohumeral from scapular action to allow integrity of direction through arms
